Metal Pegboards Can Hold a Lot More Weight
Metal pegboards are typically made of aluminum or stainless steel. They’re heavy-duty and are therefore more suitable for holding dense items. Just keep in mind that while hanging extra heavy items on hooks won’t damage the metal material, it will affect its mounting points.
However, their typically heavy weights mean they don’t often come in large sizes. If you’re looking for a pegboard that can cover an entire wall, you may have a difficult time finding a metal one that’s big enough.
Though exposure to too much moisture can cause the metal to rust, this problem can be avoided by treating it with an anti-rust treatment or getting one made of stainless steel. Metal pegboards are easy to clean and are long-lasting since they don’t warp and sag. And they're magnetic!
Plastic Pegboards Are Lightweight
