What Are the Benefits of Using Trekking Poles?

What Are the Benefits of Using Trekking Poles?

Broadly speaking, there are two major benefits of using trekking poles.

The first is that they can reduce the load on your legs. Trekking poles can help you gain momentum on ascents and flat terrain, conserving your leg strength. In addition, they also lessen the impact of descents, reducing fatigue to your knees and thighs.

The second major benefit is that they help improve balance and prevent falling. Technical hiking trails have many unstable spots like rocks and tree roots. Trekking poles act like handrails, making it easier to walk. In addition, trekking poles help when the ground is slippery with moss and mud.

If you hurt your leg while trekking, poles can also aid in descending the mountain. Likewise, if your companions are tired or injured, trekking poles can come in handy to help them get down.

How to Choose Trekking Poles

Here are the points to keep in mind when choosing the best Trekking Poles.

1

Ease of Use—Choose One With a Long Grip

Ease of Use—Choose One With a Long Grip

You hold trekking poles for long periods. So they should be comfortable and easy to use. One point to consider when thinking about comfort is the length of the pole’s grip.

Longer grips offer a variety of grip positions. This can be particularly useful in areas with frequent uphills and downhills. Although most trekking poles are adjustable, it can be troublesome to adjust the length every time you go up or downhill. With longer grips, you can easily adjust your gripping position when hiking over undulating terrain.

Regarding handle shape, all the products we tested have ergonomic designs. Black Diamond has a rounded shape that fits well in the hand, and LEKI has a distinct shape that catches your hand, making it easy to grip. We did not find a significant difference in their ease of handling between manufacturers. Therefore, which brand you choose may be a matter of personal preference.

Suguru Kataoka
Head of Mountaineering and Cycling at mybest
Suguru Kataoka

Recommended materials for the grip are either EVA or cork. Both EVA and cork are slip-resistant, even when wet. In addition, they have good durability.

Regarding the handle’s strap, there can be differences in the thickness and width. I recommend choosing based on your preference. If you're really particular, I recommend you try holding it in your local gear shop.

Choose a Lever-Type That Can Be Securely & Easily Locked

Choose a Lever-Type That Can Be Securely & Easily Locked
Besides the grip, the locking mechanism of the trekking pole is also important. Since you operate the locking mechanism every time you store, deploy, or adjust the length of your poles, how easily you can make adjustments and how reliable the locking mechanism affects the overall effectiveness of the pole.

The main methods of locking are "screw lock," "lever lock," and "button lock." Important note: button locks are exclusive to folding poles, so if you are only looking at telescopic poles, you will need to select between the screw or lever lock mechanisms. We recommend the lever lock because you can easily and quickly manipulate the mechanism with relatively light force.

However, there are differences in precision and ease of adjustability among trekking poles with lever locks. Some products are difficult to use, while others are significantly easier. The ease of operation of the lever is normally a reflection of price. More expensive, well-known brands tend to be easier to handle. We recommend products with a "Lock Mechanism'' ranking of ★4.5 or higher.

Suguru Kataoka
Head of Mountaineering and Cycling at mybest
Suguru Kataoka

The lever locks of MSR and LEKI are great because they can be easily adjusted to your preferred tightness in the field and will not loosen. On the other hand, Black Diamond's lever lock requires an included tool for adjustment, making it slightly harder to adjust on the fly. However, once set, the locking mechanism is secure and reliable.

2

Telescopic vs. Folding: Choose Based on the Type of Terrain You Frequently Hike

Telescopic vs. Folding: Choose Based on the Type of Terrain You Frequently Hike

Regarding adjustability and portability, there are two types of trekking poles, (1) telescopic and (2) collapsible

Telescopic trekking poles tend to be bulkier when you need to store them away in your backpack, making them slightly less portable. However, their telescopic adjustment mechanism does shrink their size considerably. In addition, telescopic poles are very strong.

In comparison, collapsible trekking poles can be compactly stored. Their smaller footprint makes them more portable than telescopic poles. However, they tend to feel less sturdy.

Whether you choose telescopic or collapsible poles may also depend on the difficulty level (Class) of the terrain you most frequently hike.

  • 1st Class: Well-marked, well-maintained, and relatively low-risk hiking trails

  • 2nd Class: Trails with unmaintained sections, steeper and more technical

  • 3rd Class: Trails primarily consisting of rocky terrain and technical terrain, with many sections where you need to use your hands for balance and scrambling

For Third-Class Terrain, Opt For a Collapsible. For First and Second-Class Terrain, Telescopic Poles Can Be a Better Option

For Third-Class Terrain, Opt For a Collapsible. For First and Second-Class Terrain, Telescopic Poles Can Be a Better Option
In third-class terrain, it’s common to pack your poles into your backpack to free up your hands for scrambling. In these scenarios, compact collapsible poles are recommended. There are some telescopic models that shrink down to a decent size. Our recommendation for telescopic trekking poles is the MSR: DynaLock Ascent Carbon Backcountry Poles, which is number one in our ranking.

If you only plan to hike on first and second-class terrain, telescopic poles are the go-to. On first and second-class trails, it’s beneficial to always use a trekking pole for balance. Other recommended telescopic poles include products like Black Diamond Equipment's Pursuit Trekking Poles, Alpine Carbon Cork Trekking Poles, and LEKI's Makalu Lite Cork Trekking Poles.
3

If Performance Is Your Priority, Choose Carbon. For Durability, Go With Aluminum

If Performance Is Your Priority, Choose Carbon. For Durability, Go With Aluminum

When it comes to the material of a trekking pole’s shaft, you have two options: (1) carbon fiber or (2) aluminum.

The main advantage of carbon is that it's lightweight and easy to carry. The drawback of carbon fiber poles is that they can break due to heavy force applied on the horizontal axis. On the other hand, aluminum is slightly heavier than carbon but attractive since it is slightly more durable. Carbon also tends to be more expensive, while aluminum is cheaper.

Basically, the lighter the pole, the easier it is to transport and the easier it is to use. For those who want to prioritize weight savings, carbon is recommended. However, for those who want the most durable pole, aluminum may be the better option. Choosing aluminum is also a better option if you are looking to spend less.

4

For Winter Use, Look for Models With Snow Baskets

For Winter Use, Look for Models With Snow Baskets

If you plan to go on snow hikes, winter mountain climbing adventures, or want to use your trekking poles for snow skiing, choose a pole that you can fit with large snow baskets. The ideal size for snow baskets is something with a diameter of 10cm or more.

Snow baskets are umbrella-shaped plastic parts attached to the tip of the pole. They are designed to prevent the pole from getting stuck in or sinking too deeply in snow. This feature also helps with mud and sand.

When used on snow, a large snow basket is needed to ensure buoyancy, as poles with regular baskets are stuck too deeply in the basket.

Suguru Kataoka
Head of Mountaineering and Cycling at mybest
Suguru Kataoka
I recommend aluminum poles for snowy climates because they are stronger and more durable. Besides hiking in the snow, the pole is also useful for clearing snow from your gear like snowshoes' traction spikes or chain spikes.

Also, regarding the locking mechanism, I recommend the lever lock trekking poles for winter because they are less likely to freeze and are easier to operate, even with thick gloves.
5

Cheaper Is Not Always Better—Lock Mechanisms Tend to Break Easily

Cheaper Is Not Always Better—Lock Mechanisms Tend to Break Easily

There are many budget models of trekking poles sold online. The majority of budget trekking poles cost around $50, or less. In comparison, well-known trekking pole manufacturers offer products for around $200.

After testing both high-end and budget models of trekking poles, we found no significant differences regarding the strength of the shaft. However, there were significant differences in the adjustability and strength of the locking mechanism. For example, bargain models use low-quality plastic, and some cannot be firmly secured despite tightening them fully.

Although the cheaper construction did not immediately lead to malfunction or damage, the low-quality construction coupled with weaker materials raises concerns about durability and functionality over the long term

mybest's Top Choice: Versatile, Flawless, All-Purpose Poles

What we loved

  • Lightweight carbon construction
  • Ergonomic grip with large grip zone
  • User-friendly locking mechanism

What we didn't love

  • May break under excessive force
Mountaineering brand MSR originally built their DynaLock Ascent Carbon Backcountry Poles for backcountry skiing, but they can also be used all year round.

These telescopic, lightweight poles weigh one pound and 1.2 ounces for the set, and their individual length can be collapsed to 17.5 inches each, so they can be stored in small to medium-sized backpacks. The ergonomic grip is easy to hold, with a long grip zone that makes it easy to change to various hand positions. The attached strap is also adjustable, making it suitable for any wrist size.

In addition, the poles' locking mechanism fastens securely with minimal effort, even while wearing gloves, and the lock can be tightened using a dial. While these poles were made for skiing, the large snow baskets can also be used in sandy and muddy situations.

Although lightweight, the poles are very sturdy and they held up well even when a lot of weight and pressure were applied in our durability tests. However, because they're made from carbon, they're still susceptible to breaking under too much force.

Overall, we found this to be a versatile pole that can be used on any terrain or season, and while it's pricey, we consider it worth every penny. We would recommend these poles to anyone as the top pick.

High-Strength Telescopic Carbon Poles With Easy-to-Handle Lever Lock Design

What we loved

  • Long, ergonomic grip
  • Lever-type lock is user-friendly
  • Can be used as a monopod with universal adapter (sold separately)

What we didn't love

  • May have durability issues in the long term due to carbon construction
  • Non-foldable so it cannot be compactly stored

The main selling point for Black Diamond's Alpine Carbon Cork Trekking Poles is their long handles, which makes the poles easy to grip and lets you adjust positions while hiking without much trouble. The handle's ergonomic shape fits comfortably in the hand, allowing you a firm hold from top and bottom, and the carbon construction also makes it lightweight, so you can effortlessly maneuver the poles on the go.

The lever-type locking mechanism is user-friendly as the lever is amply sized and you can lock it simply even with gloves on. It does requires a tool (included) to adjust the tightness.

There may be some issues with durability over the long term because it's made from carbon, but during our tests, the shaft and lock part of the pole felt very sturdy.

Although the following are not included with the poles, you can purchase snow baskets attachments, and as well as a universal adapter that can transform the pole into a monopod for a camera, which could be an attractive option for photography enthusiasts.

One disadvantage is their large storage size. At 25.2 inches, it can be tricky to fit them into smaller backpacks. However, for those who don’t mind the larger size, it’s perfectly suitable for hiking over first and second-class terrain.

Durable Trekking Poles for Those Who Want to Enjoy the Mountains at Their Own Pace

What we loved

  • Durable aluminum construction
  • Ergonomic grip that fits easily
  • Includes large snow baskets

What we didn't love

  • On the heavier side
  • Cannot be stored compactly
The Black Diamond Pursuit Trekking Poles ranked high in our durability tests, and we also found them quite comfortable to hold. The aluminum shaft makes this set more affordable compared to carbon and also less likely to break. The grip is made from a mix of cork and EVA materials, with an ergonomic shape that fits just right, and a long grip zone lets you adjust positions without much trouble as the terrain changes.

The lever lock mechanism is smooth and flexible, making it simple to lock even with gloves on in cold weather. It also comes with large, ten-centimeter snow baskets, which can be used in both summer and winter terrain.

They do weigh one pound and two ounces for a pair, which is on the heavier side, and a storage size of 27 inches is pretty long compared to other models. You may also need to hang the poles externally, as they may not fit inside a backpack. Because of this, these poles may be unsuitable for technical terrain.

On the whole, the Black Diamond Pursuit Trekking Poles are an entry-level and user-friendly trekking pole, recommended for beginners who want to enjoy the mountains at their own pace and those who are not too worried about its heavy weight or low portability.

Distinctive Multifunction Grip for Excellent Comfort

What we loved

  • Durable aluminum construction
  • Long grip makes it easy to hold

What we didn't love

  • Its bulkiness and length makes it less portable
When we took the Leki Makalu Lite Cork Trekking Poles on a hike, we could immediately feel their durability. Even while hiking along a rough trail, these poles remained steady and secure, thanks to their aluminum construction.

The unique shape of the thoughtfully crafted cork grip stands out in particular, and the long grip length allows you to switch grips easily and make adjustments even on steep terrain. And with a no-fuss lever lock mechanism, these poles are quite user-friendly.

Usually, a disadvantage of using trekking poles is that you may need to brace yourself suddenly on your hike, but your hands are already occupied. However, because each pole has a large rubber and obtrusive grip, you can support your body with the head of the pole instead of using your palm.

These poles can also handle various terrain types and weather conditions throughout the year as you can purchase additional snow baskets that can be attached for winter hiking or skiing. In addition, spare rubber caps add to their versatility.

The Makalu Lite Cork Trekking Poles did get a low rating on portability. The weight and bulkiness when stored are big disadvantages, and they may stick out from a small backpack and could potentially be cumbersome while hiking.

Affordable and Entry-Level Aluminum Poles

What we loved

  • Lightweight and durable
  • Attachments can be added

What we didn't love

  • Short grip makes it less easy to switch grip positions
  • Long length makes it incovenient to carry
  • Weaker locking mechanism materials

REI’s Trailmade Trekking Poles are made from aluminum, making them relatively lightweight and durable. The grip is made from EVA material so it will fit comfortably in your hand. The grip length, however, is shorter compared to other poles, which means lesser space to change hand positions.

The lever lock system is easy to handle and can be tightened with little effort, but we found the materials used in its construction to be slightly weak, so you can't be too rough on these poles.

Overall, we found the shaft's strength and durability sufficient. Even when we applied considerable force during testing, the poles did not break easily.

Snow baskets are not included, but they can be added as attachments. They are simple to attach and inexpensive, and they make the poles adaptable for winter conditions.

Compared to other aluminum poles, the Trailmade Trekking Poles are pretty lightweight, but their 25-inch storage size is quite bulky, making them less convenient to carry, so we don’t recommend these poles for hikers who like to stash away their poles during Class 3 sections of the trail. In general, we recommend these poles for beginners looking for a cost-effective pole and those who enjoy simple hiking.

Strong and Highly Versatile: Simple, Beginner-Friendly Poles

What we loved

  • Non-slip cork grip is comfortable to hold
  • Smooth locking mechanism
  • Durable construction

What we didn't love

  • Short grip makes it difficult to change grip position
  • Too heavy and bulky to be portable
Leki's poles are known for their high-quality construction and easy-to-grip handles, and these Legacy Lite Trekking Poles are no different. However, the short grip length means you won't have as much room to make grip adjustments. In addition, the shape of the top of the grip can be somewhat difficult to hold. Fortunately, it's made out of a hard, non-slip cork which feels nice to hold and will break in nicely, becoming even more comfortable with use over time.

These poles have a user-friendly SPEED ROCK+ lever lock design that is similar to Leki’s other higher-end models. The locking mechanism can be securely locked with little force, even while wearing gloves.

They were also rated highly due to their durability and versatility. Due to an aluminum construction, they held up quite well even when we applied a lot of force on them in our tests. Even more, you can purchase and attach large snow baskets so you can also use the poles in the winter.

The poles did not rank well on portability as they're too heavy and bulky to store and carry while hiking, so we don’t think these poles are suitable for those who want the option to put away their poles on the go, or for those who want to take on technical Class 3 hiking and scrambling routes.

The construction and finish of the Leki Legacy Lite Trekking Poles are high quality and could be a good option for those who are looking for an entry-level pole and those who want to prioritize cost over weight and portability.

Ultra-Lightweight Telescoping Poles: Great for Ultralight Hiking

What we loved

  • Ultra-lightweight at 11.1 oz.
  • Remains sturdy even when excessive force is applied

What we didn't love

  • Not recommended for use in the snow
  • Sponge-like grip may be uncomfortable for some
  • Screw lock mechanism is less user-friendly
Gossamer Gear is an ultralight gear brand from California, USA, and they specialize in ultra-lightweight backpacks, tents, and other products suitable for ultralight hiking. Their LT5 Three Piece Carbon Trekking Poles are extremely light, adjustable carbon poles that weigh in at only 11.1 oz. This makes them one of the most ultra-lightweight products in the trekking pole category.

However, their storage size at 23.5 inches isn't that compact and can't be easily stowed away in a backpack, making these poles more suited for those who like to move fast on hiking routes and prioritize lightweight gear.

Some lightweight poles tend to be too flexible and lack strength, but these poles have an unquestionably sturdy feel. They resisted bending when extreme force was applied during testing, making them ideal to use even as tent poles.

The grip and locking system, unfortunately, have some drawbacks. The grip is short and has a sponge-like feel, which might not feel comfortable. The screw lock mechanism may also be a little tricky to use as opposed to a lever lock.

It does not come with a snow basket and is not recommended for use in the snow. Although its use is limited, this product is for those who want to use it on ultralight hikes.

Appealing, Ergonomic Grip, but Heavy and Difficult to Carry Around

What we loved

  • Non-slip, ergonomic grip is easy to hold
  • Smooth locking mechanism

What we didn't love

  • Heavier weight makes it less portable
One of the most attractive features of the Traverse Trekking Poles is its long handle, which is designed for an intuitive hold. The top part of the grip is large and made of cork, while the lower part is made of EVA, creating a non-slip, easy-to-grip shape. You can also wrap your palm around the top for extra support when stepping down.

These poles are built with a lever lock system, which can be easily locked even while wearing gloves. Compared to other products, these poles seem to be slightly less sturdy but are still reliable as long as you're not applying excessive force.

The strength and versatility of the Traverse Trekking Poles are unquestionable. These poles are durable and very resistant to bending or breaking, thanks to their high-strength aluminum construction. They also come with large snow baskets, so you can use them in the snow mountains without needing to purchase an additional basket.

One major downside is that it's a little heavy as it weighs one pound and 4.2 ounces, which makes them less portable. Their size, when stored, is also large at 25 inches, which makes it difficult to fit them in your backpack.

Lightweight and Compact: Great for Trail Running Competitions

What we loved

  • Highly portable and can be stored easily
  • Size when folded is very compact
  • Quick deployment with button lock mechanism

What we didn't love

  • Durability and usage limited to competitive trail running
Leki's Ultratrail FX.One Trekking Poles are foldable poles that were developed for competitive trail running.

They weigh in at 13.7 ounces, making them quite lightweight compared to other trekking poles. When stored, they are compact at 14.9 inches, so these poles can easily be attached to and carried in a 10L trail running vest. If you prioritize portability, this would be one of our top choices.

The cork grip has a long length and is easy to hold It's uniquely-designed strap isn't hooked onto your wrist, but instead put on your hand like a glove. You can also attach and detach the strap and pole in one touch, allowing you to adjust or store the pole instantly.

Ultratrail FX.One Trekking Poles features a button lock system that lets you quickly deploy the poles or fold them. Some users may find this slightly inferior to the lever lock, but if you prioritize speed, you may find this locking mechanism appealing.

Because they were developed for competition use, these poles may not be suitable for situations where there is a risk of falling or snowy conditions. While these poles are not weak or lacking in sturdiness, it's safer to avoid heavily using these poles on a daily basis. Overall, the versatility of these poles is low, but in exchange, it performs exceptionally well during high-performance trail running.

Lightweight Poles That Are Easy to Carry

What we loved

  • Can be folded for portability
  • Lightweight construction

What we didn't love

  • Short grip makes it hard to change grip position
  • Button lock mechanism is not user-friendly
The foldable, aluminum Distance Z Trekking Poles from Black Diamond are made with a simple, lightweight design, have great portability, and can be stored very compactly. Despite being made out of aluminum, these poles only weigh 12.9 ounces for the pair, and when folded, they measure a mere 16 inches. Thanks to this, they are quite easy to stow into not only a small backpack but also a trail running vest.

One big drawback is the short grip on the pole, which prevents easy adjustments on the go. Since you cannot adjust the length of these poles either, we found it a little unsatisfactory.

The Distance Z Trekking Poles uses a button lock mechanism. When the poles are unfolded, you can easily lock the poles. However, there may be some people who find the button-locking system difficult to operate. We found that the trick for the locking mechanism is to pull the pole a little while simultaneously pushing the button.

A snow basket is included, but it's small, so it doesn't provide much buoyancy in deep snow. It's intended for use with residual snow or mud, so it may not be suitable for activities like snow hiking or backcountry skiing.

High-Quality Specs, but Usability Is Questionable

What we loved

  • Lightweight and easy to carry
  • Can be used in all seasons
  • Ergonomic grip for comfort

What we didn't love

  • Poorly constructed locking mechanism
  • Short grip makes it hard to adjust position
REI’s Flash Carbon Compact Trekking Poles weigh a feather-light 12.2 ounces, making them very easy to carry around, and with a storage size of 23 inches, they are relatively compact compared to other telescopic trekking poles.

Although it has a short grip, it's made from EVA material, so it can fit comfortably in the hand, and the ergonomic shape provides a secure hold.

The poles are also highly versatile as they come with a snow basket attachment, making them suitable to use from summer to winter and any season in between.

Unfortunately, the poles that we received had poor shaft craftsmanship. We struggled to adjust the length of one of the two poles in the pair. Even after adjusting the lock lever, the holding power of the mechanism was questionable. If we changed the locked location, it would become too tight, and we couldn't pull out the pole or make adjustments.

The poles weren't completely unusable, but we wouldn't say they were high-quality either. Despite featuring some impressive specs overall, they lost points due to the difficulty of using the lock mechanism.

Carbon Pole With a Wealth of Accessories. The Strength of the Lock Mechanism Is a Concern

What we loved

  • Large lever on locking system makes it easy to use
  • Includes a number of accessories

What we didn't love

  • Rough texture on grip feels uncomfortable
  • Lever lock may not be durable in the long term
Foxelli's Carbon Fiber Trekking Poles may have a long, ergonomic grip, but the rough surface may be too uncomfortable for some. And while these poles have some user-friendly features, its overall evaluation was not entirely satisfactory.

The locking mechanism has a large lever which can be locked even while wearing gloves. However, the lever is made out of cheap plastic, so it could suddenly snap from too much pressure and it doesn't seem like it could withstand long-term use. The poles do have a well-made carbon shaft, but the movable parts, such as the lever, have a flimsier construction so they could be a problem down the road.

A lot of accessories are also included with the set, which enables the poles to be used not only in the snow but also for walking on paved roads

All in all, these poles could be a good, affordable option for those who want to use them for a wide range of purposes, not just for trekking in the mountains.

Plenty of Accessories for Versatility, but Heavy and Difficult to Carry Around

What we loved

  • Durable aluminum construction
  • Locking system is easy to use
  • Includes a number of accessories

What we didn't love

  • Grip shape is uncomfortable to hold
  • Stability of locking mechanism doesn't seem sustainable over time
The Cascade Mountain Tech Quick Lock Trekking Poles come equipped with an abundance of accessories like large snow baskets, rubber grips, and trekking baskets, and the shaft is constructed with durable aluminum. A long grip length also lets you switch your grip position with enough space, but the grip itself isn't ergonomic so how it feels in the hand may vary with each person.

The locking mechanism is easy to use and reliable, and its construction seemed sturdy. Compared to the lever locks from other manufacturers, however, the locking mechanism may not hold up over time. We found that it became weaker after extended use.

One major downside of these poles is that they are heavy, weighing one pound and 6.2 ounces. They are also very bulky at 26 inches when stowed. Using heavy trekking poles for a long time can lead to fatigue, so these poles may not be suited for those who want to use them frequently.

Inexpensive and Lightweight Carbon Poles, but Strength Is Questionable

What we loved

  • Light enough to carry
  • Large snow basket attached

What we didn't love

  • Locking mechanism was not durable
  • Grip's shape may be uncomfortable to hold for some

The Fitlife Carbon Fiber Trekking Poles weigh one pound and 0.8 ounces for the pair, which is a little heavy for something made out of carbon, but we found that they are still fairly light enough to carry. Additionally, they're not very compact when stored.

The EVA grip is only somewhat comfortable, as there are some rough points in the molding of the grip and strap, which may be uncomfortable for some users.

We also have concerns over the lock mechanism’s durability. We couldn't firmly lock the poles in some positions, even after firmly tightening them. On top of that, the material of the lever was soft and seemed like it could break if too much force were applied. You may be better off considering other options if you want something that will last for a while.

They do come with large snow baskets, which makes them suitable for winter activities such as snow hiking and skiing. They also come with a wide variety of rubber caps, allowing you to adapt the poles to various uses.

For those who are purchasing trekking poles for a one-time summer adventure or for hikers who like to bring poles just in case of a one-off hike, it might be a good option to consider.

Inexpensive Folding Poles, but Durability of the Lock Mechanism Is a Drawback

What we loved

  • Small size when folded
  • Includes many accessories

What we didn't love

  • Locking mechanism is not durable
  • Relatively heavy despite compact size
The Alpin Loacker Collapsible Trekking Poles are collapsible down to 14 inches and can be stored and transported in a small bag, but at one pound and 3.8 ounces, the bulkiness makes their portability unsatisfactory.

The main problem with these poles turned out to be the lock mechanism. Because the locks are constructed with low-durability plastic parts, they broke easily in our durability tests.

On the plus side, the product came with many accessories, including a snow basket and different rubber grips for different types of terrain. Overall, we found their the price-performance ratio good enough considering the price and the included contents, but have doubts about the poles' durability over the long term.
