5 Best Tried and True Japanese Women's Cooling Undershirts in 2022 (Uniqlo, Wacoal, and More)

UNIQLO's AIRism Bra Camisole is a bra top camisole with adjustable straps. In our tests for coolness to the touch, we found that its Q-max value was as high as 0.32 W/cm2. Many of our staff members commented that they felt very cool when wearing it, making it perfect for hot summer days.

The moisture in the fabric evaporated quicker than any other product in our test for drying speed, making it great for those concerned about sticky perspiration. This product also received a high rating in our breathability test. 

With a smooth texture and a comfortable fit, many of our testers said that it was "easy to move around in and comfortable to wear." The bra cups also fit the bust well and provided decent stability. However, although the product is said to have odor-eliminating properties, the deodorizing test showed that this undershirt tends to smell musty if not dried properly. 

This is a high-function, well-balanced product and we would recommend this as the best for those who are unsure about which undershirt to choose.

UNIQLO's AIRism Camisole features a V-shaped neckline. This style does not include any bra cups. Similar to the bra cup type AIRism camisole, this undershirt provides a cooling sensation upon initial contact, which makes it great for wearing during hot summers.

The smooth and sleek texture of the fabric was well-received by our staff members. This camisole should fit your hips, bust, and tummy while being comfortable enough to move around in.

With a high breathability rating, this product will allow perspiration to evaporate quickly even on a sweaty day. What differed slightly from the bra cup camisole was its drying speed. It was not as quick to dry as the bra cup camisole, but was still an adequate enough result.

In our deodorizing test, this product was found to smell a little musty when not dried properly, so we recommend washing and drying thoroughly for those who are sensitive to odors.

Nissen's Under Free Quick Drying Bra Top Camisole comes with no inner elastic strap and has a seamless, non-hemmed finish. Many of our staff members commented that it was "light and smooth to the touch."

The overall fit is loose and comfortable, making it a good choice for those who don't like tight-fitting undershirts. The bra cups fit well around the bust, but without any elastic under them, the overall fit felt slightly loose and unstable. This product got a perfect score in our deodorizing test, though, as there was clearly no odor even when not dried properly.

The Q-max value was 0.24W/cm2, which means the garment will feel slightly cool to the touch when first worn. It got a high score on our breathability test, and we recommend this for those concerned about feeling hot and stuffy. In our quick-drying test, the moisture evaporated well enough and it received an above-average rating.

The WING Smooth, Light, and Thin Luxury Organic Cotton Sleeveless is produced by WACOAL, a major undergarment manufacturer. In our breathability test, we found that the fabric provided great ventilation, for which we rated it highly.

While this undershirt did come with a strong scent when brand new, we found no musty odors after washing, so it has high odor-eliminating properties. Our staff members liked the lightweight fit and how easy it was to move around in it, as it comes with an overall fairly loose fit. 

Unfortunately, the fabric felt slightly rough to the touch and extremely thin. The fabric had a low Q-max value of 0.17W/cm2, and is capable of providing some cooling sensation, but we gave it a lower rating as it did not exceed 0.2W/cm2. This undershirt may not be the most suitable for those looking for an undershirt which provides a strong cooling sensation.

The Salalist Sweat Absorption Inner Ultra Thin & Silky Tank Top by SENSHUKAI is an undershirt that comes with sweat absorbing pads and features a higher neckline. In our test for quick drying, we found that this product was decent in terms of moisture evaporation.

The fabric also provided good ventilation and scored well in our breathability test. Although the fabric texture did feel slightly rough, overall it was lightweight and smooth to the touch when worn. Unfortunately, all of our staff members commented that wearing this undershirt felt slightly uncomfortable due to the sweat pads, which led to a low rating in our comfort test. 

With the Q-max value at 0.17 W/cm2, this product may not provide as much cooling as some would prefer. We also found that this product left a musty, sweaty smell when not dried properly.
