First, we tested each product for how well it deodorized.
We recreated odors produced by humans like the smell of ammonia and body odor fatty acid smells, placed each deodorizer in the bags, let them sit for an hour, and had our odor specialist smell the contents of each. He then gave each product a rating of A+ to D.
There's Quite a Difference in Fast-Acting Ability Depending on the Type
A lot of standing deodorizers are bead-types that absorb odors in the air before eliminating them. The test was conducted over only a few minutes, making it difficult to grasp the effectiveness of these products in such a short period of time.
On the other hand, the liquid and gel-type deodorizers use their fragrance to quickly get rid of any unwanted odors in the air.
"Some deodorizers that mask foul odors with fragrance can get rid of any unpleasantness caused by the mixture of smells that occur but others mix badly causing an almost worse odor to linger in the room.
